The new release is compatible with alpaka 0.6.X.
Please have a look at the alpaka changelog to get an overview of all improvements and breaking changes.
cupla.hpp includes cupla without the macros that rename CUDA API functions to their cupla counterparts. The old renaming functionality can still be used by including cuda_to_cupla.hpp.
The refactored mathematical functions in cupla increase the useability.
OpenMP 5 and OpenACC as new back-ends provide new ways to access modern hardware.

The new release ships Alpaka 0.4.0, enables easier usage without CMake, supports linking of multiple backends, adds support for new backends e.g. HIP, TBB, OMP4 and has many other improvements.
