When holding a key on a virtual keyboard for a while (e.g. Integral key)
popup with extended keys is shown, so if you release the mouse click outside the original key and outside the popup, the popup rimed opened.

open the virtual keyboard on the basic example page
click and hold the mouse button on the integral key
release the mouse button outside the integral key, for example on the minus key.

The behavior is the same for me on Chrome 88.0.4324.96 (Official Build) (x86_64) under macOS 11.1.
In addition, I should also probably mention the fact it's not registering a click on a key if the pointer is at the very bottom of it, due to the key popping up a bit on mousedown.
