We definitely should check with current sponsors of AsyncAPI and sponsors of events if they would be interested in such sponsoring. I think the pack should include 2 things:

I was part of Mozilla Reps programs during 2014 and was active before COVID happens. Would love to share some thoughts on Swags. I vouch for I think the pack should include 2 things: basic stuff for speaker (tshirt/hoodie and other stuff) : In Mozilla Reps program there was something called as Reps Welcome Kit, If I remember correctly it used to have Black T-shirt with few stickers, badges and welcome message card. Random google search ended up with one blog post stuff for community that ambassador has contact with: Or I would like to call it as, swags for some specific events. Say If I am giving a talk representing Mozilla Community as Mozilla Rep at FossAsia Summit or any similar events, I used to raise the swag request by saying the target audience, expected foot fall If I setup booth, then the topic (General Open source, Firefox OS, Firefox WebExtension and few others) which I will talk, based on it T-shirts, buttons, Stickers, Pens, Notebook were sent. |

Regarding including some sponsored content (eg: Stickers/ Notebook with Ably); It will be good to have. I even remember once for one of the Mozilla Techspeaker sticker pack we had lot of different stickers (Samsung internet, Rust, WebVR, Javascript and so on). I once went to Angelhack Bangalore, there I remember getting T-shirt where in front side it will be only Angelhack logo, in the backside sponser logo will be there. Something like this. |

Hi! 😄 Things I can help setup are basic logo tees and stickers. If we want to redo the Eve and Chan illustrations for this, I think we should seek the help of an illustrator because tbh my character drawing skills are not the best 😅 There might be someone on the Postman team that could help out with this! |

I'd like us to also discuss how will we give access to these swags. at the moment we have AsyncAPI swag shop at https://www.threadless.com/ but last time we checked there is no coupon-based system, we somebody can make order on their own. Maybe competition like https://www.spreadshirt.com/ is better? sometimes I'm thinking that it is about time to get something like https://store.gatsbyjs.org/ (Gatsby.js is an open-source project). Source code of the shop is available here. We would only have to figure out how they handle swags distribution. I like this approach as it would not only work well for the Ambassador program but also for other activities, where we see someone in the community that should get a t-shirt or something, as we are just sharing coupon with them so they can make free order. We could explore WooCommerce instead of Shopify to lower costs. Something to think about imho @Barbanio maybe you could check with Linux Foundation, if they have some experience and can tell us their best practices? Also not sure what you think about having some foundation here like:

I totally agree, I think it is better to offer less quantity of objects but of the highest possible quality. I agree also with using products that are as environmentally friendly as possible. |

The Linux Foundation says they use https://www.pinnaclebranding.com/ for their swags. With them, they have created stores like these: https://store.cd.foundation and https://store.cncf.io. This company takes care of webstore, warehousing, and global distribution needs. LF proposes to do something as simple as https://store.graphql.org/, making it more affordable. What do you think? |

OMG, I did not expect they will provide answer so fast 😄 damn, there are services for everything in this world 😄 I wonder if Gatsby uses the same stuff. I can't imagine them handling warehousing on their own 😄 I personally love to use LF approach but would vote for our custom store/frontend that works like Gatsby, so you log in with GitHub and we can easily match store users with AsyncAPI contributors. Can you check what would be the cost of https://store.graphql.org/ and also if it is possible to just use pinnaclebranding for all except of the webstore, like how much would it be if we would handle webstore on our own, and integrate with their API? |

About this, they tell me it is not possible. If they produce the swag, they would produce the store for free. Unfortunately, they can't manage the store through an external 3rd party web platform, as their store site integrates with their inventory management system, their ERP, and their multiple shipping platforms. They say there is a lot to do, so they must manage/maintain the store on their own. I am waiting for an answer on what the cost would be to do something like https://store.graphql.org/ |

Proposal for swags: Hi! I have been looking at products for the swags. I chose the website https://shop.pinnaclebranding.com/ as an example because that is the one we are talking about and they have many products with great design and high quality. @Barbanio hi! You did a great job sourcing these swag products. Can confirm that Bella Canvas sweatshirts are awesome, I have one of them. As for shirts, I would try to get Next Level if the cost is okay as its IMO probably one the of the best quality t shirts out there (I used to do private label for a surf shop 😄 ) As far as the other swag items, I definitely like the combination of T-Shirt, Sweatshirt, Notebook, Pens, stickers, and copper insulated water bottle if we have to be selective. The socks might get a little bit too complicated as far as print goes, but we can always add that in if it works in the budget. Although I am unsure of how you are deciding on who get's what level of swag pack, I think maybe it would be nice to just have 1 "super cool" larger pack (With all the items listed above) and then 1 basic pack (Maybe just has t shirt, notebook, pen, and stickers?) I have learned that sometimes less options are better and less overwhelming! Otherwise, I think we should start thinking about how the swag items will be packaged and delivered to the ambassadors/collaborators. It would be fun to think about the experience of the items packaged in the box and how we can curate it so the ambassador has a fun time opening it up too #experiencedesign |

Yes @mcturco , there are very good quality items on this site. There are also Next Level t-shirts and the price difference is not much, I think we could go for them. As for swags, there are finally two categories, just as you describe: #247 (reply in thread) I love the idea of #experiencedesign!!! Sounds fun!!!! |

Hi, I have found a product that might be a good idea to include in swags. They are cards to thank ambassadors for their work and trust in AsyncAPI. These cards have seeds and can be planted, and a plant can be born 🌱 There are also notebooks created with this same system. I have found the cards in many online stores, but the notebooks are not widespread. What do you think about this idea? |

Related to cards (not the card which are plantable). Personalized card with Hand written notes will be great when shared to contributors. I have got couple of cards from Mozilla Add-ons team which I preserved for long time; during COVID shifting I am not sure where I placed them. |

Sounds good to me! Do you know by when we are trying to have finalized swag products? Just wondering because Shruthi has the illustrations on her list, but she said that she wouldn't be able to get to them until April (which now that I am thinking about it is not too far away now 😆 ) but if we need something before then, I can put something simple together, like maybe simplified characters of eve and chan. Also, once we have a finalized list of swag items, let me know what those are and I can begin to work on the prints on each of them! |

@mcturco we still did not choose service provider, that will give us printing, warehousing and online shop. I will try to have some initial convo with some company that supports Linux Foundation projects and will share my findings here with the community. so yeah, April is for sure not a time when we start printing |

They can offer us everything we need: that the swags are of quality, that the process is fully automatic and that the economic management is transparent and visible to all. Hi! We have to choose how many units of T-shirts and hoodies there should be of each size in the store. This is my suggestion, what do you think?
On the other hand, the Recycled Cotton Convention Tote is not available in Navy color, but they could get it separately. Maybe we could keep only the natural color since we have to order 300 units of each color. What do you think? And finally, do you think the cap and the bottle are better in gray or navy? |

Great! And the back design in one color or full color? These are the prices for both options. This price is without the AsyncAPI logo on the chest. Once we choose how we want the illustration on the back, the company will give us the final cost of the hoodie. |

Hi! Following the thread about the ambassador program (#239), I open this discussion in order to talk about the swags of this program.
Sponsorship swags:
@derberg proposed the idea of treating the ambassador program as another event with respect to sponsorship. I think that is a great idea. If it is going to go that route, it would open up an offer for different sponsors to support the program in exchange for their logo appearing on the swags.
All money would be managed through Open Collective to ensure maximum transparency.
Would be great that ambassador program would have its own image and the sponsors' logo would appear in the background.
Regarding the different contributions that sponsors can make, could we differentiate the size of the logo, for example, depending on whether their financial contribution is larger or smaller? Do you have any ideas in this regard?
Swags:
There will be different types of collaborations so it would be interesting to have several types of swags, how about 3 types?
I have been researching how they do it in other initiatives and what are the products they offer. Here is my proposal:
Sophisticated swag: ($200 approx. with shipping)
-2 t-shirts
-2 hoodies sweatshirts
-1 steel bottle
-1 notebook
-1 backpack or bag
-stickers
Intermediate swag: (100 dollars approx. with shipping)
-1 t-shirt

-1 notebook

Modest swag: ($50 approx. with shipping)
