sriovNetSupport attribute not supported for describing image or instance #606
Comments
This is a capitalization issue. Using "sriovNetSupport" works. All the items in the help page need to start with lower case apparently. I'd submit a pull request but I can't figure out where it's generated. |
The docs have been updated for a while (http://docs.aws.amazon.com/cli/latest/reference/ec2/describe-instance-attribute.html), but it looks like we didn't link the commit with this issue. Closing out old issue. |

The 'sriovNetSupport' attribute is not supported when using the 'describe-instance-attribute' command. The help page does state that 'SriovNetSupport' is a supported attribute as far as returned data is concerned, but the
--attribute
option doesn't allow 'SriovNetSupport' to actually be chosen. The 'describe-image-attribute' also has the same problem. Can't actually view if sriov networking is enabled or not in an AMI.
The 'modify-instance-attribute' command does accept
--sriov-net-support
, so sriov networking isn't entirely unsupported.http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/APIReference/ApiReference-query-DescribeImageAttribute.html
