  • The requested variant shape does not go too far away from Iosevka's design.
  • The requested variant does not conflict with any characters in Unicode that Iosevka currently supports.
  • At least two monospace/programming fonts, created by different designers, supported the requested variant. Provide images below.

Simulated below with Latin Alpha.
This would basically allow italic a to be in harmony with g/q/d in any configuration.

Maybe a better way to phrase this is a double serifed / tailed+serifed single storey a ? Not exactly one with a top serif only.

Mind you, the other three slab-serif fonts I listed are actually showing the original ascii a.

Add serif variants for U, a, d, q, and α

Closes be5invis#1949 .

Also change of variant name:

* `a`.`hook-inward-serifed` → `a`.`corner-hooked`

to match `r`.`corner-hooked`.

* Add serif variants for `U`, `a`, `d`, `q`, and `α`

Closes #1949 .

Also change of variant name:

* `a`.`hook-inward-serifed` → `a`.`corner-hooked`

to match `r`.`corner-hooked`.

* revert name change

* Attempt to combat new unused `a` variants.

* cont.

* reshuffle `d` variants for consistency.
