Why "Managed by your organization" ? #37
-
Hi there, I installed version 98.0.4700.0 from the installer offered here on Mavericks. It runs fine but it says: "Managed by your organization" - Why is this? I deleted my profile but I can't get rid of this remote management which I really don't like... Any help is much appreciated! |

Hi, I'm guessing you're using #25, or did at one point. The downloader is actually my own personal project, separate from Bluebox's Chromium Legacy, and one of the things it does is set Chromium "policies" which work around bugs and other inconsistencies in the original Chromium Legacy. This causes Chromium to say that it's "managed by your organization." Basically, any time you run a Terminal command like:
on any Mac running any version of Chromium, the message "managed by your organization" will appear. To make the message go away, run However, please note that no one can see your browsing history or remotely change settings. The message is merely a consequence of the somewhat-lazy way I've made Chromium Legacy more usable for myself (and, hopefully, more usable for others). P.S. I've also added this explanation to the downloader topic. |
