Complete the below when receiving a research request, and continue to add to this issue as you receive additional details and produce deliverables. Be sure to also add the appropriate project-level label to this issue (eg gtfs-rt, DLA).

Research Question

Single sentence description: Publish the speeds by stop segments into open data portal.

Detailed description:

  • Switch identifiers out from gtfs_dataset_key and _gtfs_dataset_name to be source_record_id and organization_name (prepare now for when we switch out single day to another time horizon)
  • Include time-of-day for trips in the script. Publish all day and PM peak speeds
  • Include 20th percentile, mean, and 80th percentile speeds for segment
  • Submit Caltrans open data portal data dictionary / metadata csvs
  • Set up open data metadata, include it in the open data monthly publishing workflow

How will this research be used?

Make publicly available GTFS RT - vehicle positions (speeds)

Deliverables:

@amandaha8: the metadata XML update will a good starting point for you. it's basically the stage where we finish our processed data in Hub, but need to add some bells and whistles to update the metadata associated with the file geodatabase / will be displayed in the Geoportal too.
