Overview

  • I have tried out cmdargs for parsing command line arguments

Comments

  • Just an experiment, not polished
  • Naming gets confusing, would work better in a CLI module
  • Possibly a bit too advanced for our current usage
$ stack exec cardano-wallet-server --

Hmmm... There are a few things that worry me with this package 😅 ... The main one being:

(&=) :: (Data val, Data ann) => val -> ann -> val

From the type signature, one can already tell that chances that some nasty unsafe IO is happening are very high. It's probably safe in practice, but feels somewhat magical 🤷‍♂️

I'd advise going for optparse-applicative which is a bit more idiomatic I.M.O. (if we don't pick docopt as an alternative)

If we can avoid creating a WalletParams record, I think docopt would be really nice.
