Instructions for Mentors

Thanks for attending and mentoring!

Some quick instructions:

  1. If you have a project in mind, please go ahead and create a Slack channel so participants can be involved and chat with you about the project work. Please use the format collab-chi20-topic, e.g. collab-chi20-blogdown. Feel free to share the channel name in the collab-chi20-community channel if/when you have done so.

  2. Sign up for time in the Zoom rooms. We will have three dedicated rooms that will be available all weekend for booking. We will share permissions to view and sign up for time slots on our schedule. During the event, we ask that you respect the other groups who may need to use the rooms and think Slack/Github first. If all rooms are booked, feel free to set up a Slack call / Google Hangout / Skype.

  3. Don't get Zoom bombed! Make sure not to share the links on any platforms outside of the collab-chi20-community or the topic channels. Keep these links private to avoid anybody unintended from being in the Zoom rooms.

  4. Feel free to reach out on Slack, email, or wherever if you have questions.
