pulumi-automation-sdk-ssh-tunnel

This project demonstrates how you can use the Pulumi Automation SDK to provision resources that require connectivity through a bastion host, establish a connection through the bastion host, and then provision resources through the connection.

Prerequisites

  • You will need the Pulumi CLI installed.
  • This particular project uses TypeScript so you will need Node.js installed. This same automation application could be implemented in any of other languages that Pulumi supports.
  • For execution, and the SSH tunnel to work correctly, the current implementation requires that the ssh key is already established with ssh-agent. The code could be modified to take the ssh private key as an input.

Usage

The automation application requires the following three arguments:

  • the operation to perform - up, refresh, or destroy
  • the stack name
  • the path to the ssh public key for connecting to the bastion host

e.g.

npm run pulumi \
    up \
    dev \
    ~/.ssh/key.pub

Example Output

% npm run pulumi up dev ~/.ssh/key.pub

> pulumi-automation-sdk-ssh-tunnel@0.0.1 pulumi
> ./node_modules/ts-node/dist/bin.js pulumi.ts "up" "dev" "/Users/clstokes/.ssh/key.pub"
