Unfortunately, that code requires providing an already made template file, whereas core pack uses dmgbuild to make it from scratch:

Making the DMG is optional, and is only done if you provide the template DMG file, which you have to create beforehand.

Therefore, we need pip to install dmgbuild. If you have an alternative solution that works without a template DMG file and avoids pip, I would consider a PR for it.

My don’t remember it needing a template . But I guess you checked .

It just needed basic resources like icons, etc I thought .
