@mkitti @ngam I'm getting a little out of my depth here, but I did some poking around into the osx_64 error. It looks like it's coming from an update to rust that changed the minimum supported version of macOS to 10.12 (which released in Sep. 2016). A maintainer for the cryptography feedstock also ran into this.

The conda-forge docs suggest that adding

MACOSX_SDK_VERSION:        # [osx and x86_64]
  - "10.12"                # [osx and x86_64]

in recipe/conda_build_config.yaml could do what newer rusts need — though it also says to consult @conda-forge/core before doing this. The cryptography recipe maintainer (who is in conda-forge/core) also added

        - __osx >=10.12     # [osx and x86_64]

to the run requirements in recipe/meta.yaml.

I guess one option would be to limit the rust version, but I think that may be unnecessary because the writing is on the wall for conda-forge support of old macOS versions.
