Thanks for digging that up! That PR doesn't do much except add CI though. However, it refers to aio-libs/multidict#864, which we could backport to cure the segfaults.

Looks like the code is using some old conventions that clang (still 15 in this PR) now errors on:

There's been no response on the PR for a while (in fact the repo seems comatose), plus we've got a passing test suite here and this is blocking a lot of packages. So in it goes.
