PPA outdated packages #310
Comments
Sorry I've been very busy recently. I'll update the PPA as soon as I can. |
That would be great. Thanks in advance and thank you for this great tool :) |
I found it difficult to pack a recent version of Fontforge. I wonder if any one could help. |
please note that these instructions will fail without libltdl-dev >.< |
@djvs at which step will it fail without libltdl ? It could be the problem that I could not build the Fontforge package. Thanks! |
i skimmed this too quick, was trying to install pdf2htmlEX itself, not being aware the PPA was working for that. however, yes, i think it will fail somewhere in line 12 without libltdl. |
Even with libltdl, font forge seems to have issues compiling on Ubuntu 14. It seems to work fine with the older version of libfontforge-dev, but there is warning that pdf2htmlex is compiled with an unsupported version. What can potentially break with the older fontforge library (because it seems to work just fine for a few pdfs that I tested)?? |
@uttamk If you go through the issues of pdf2htmlEX, most crashes are caused by outdated Fontforge. It has been nearly 2 years now, and many bugs have been fixed. |
Another failed try today. log |
@coolwanglu may I suggest creating a docker container so it can be used anywhere that support docker? |
@pengux It could be good idea, but I'm not familiar with it myself. I'd like to include it in the wiki if anyone is interested. |
In addition to updating the PPA, could you add one for Ubuntu 14.04? |
I was able to build the pdf2htmlEX branch of FontForge on Ubuntu 14.04. Is this still a problem for others? |
Building is not a problem, it's the ppa that's the issue here. I guess there is some constraints to publish a package |
Has anyone an instructional on how to install/build pdf2htmlEX for 14.04? |
I agree with @pengux . A docker container would be very appreciated. |
I have released a docker image with pdf2htmlEX. |
👍 Thanks! |
Great! Which ubuntu and pdf2htmlex versions do you use? |
Thanks @klokoy , if you can help maintain the image, can you add it to the wiki page "download" ? |
I will do that as soon as I have time. Sent from my iPhone On 8. okt. 2014, at 22.57, Lu Wang notifications@github.com wrote: Thanks @klokoy https://github.com/klokoy , if you can help maintain the — |
I added a link to the docker image in the download page. This is an automated build docker image so new versions can easily be created by pushing pull requests to this repository: https://github.com/klokoy/pdf2htmlEX_docker |
Fixed, finally |
What about Ubuntu Utopic ? |
@Siddhant I'll upgrade my ubuntu and test it before uploading the package. |
@Siddhant Just found that Utopic is not supported by Fontforge PPA, so we might need to wait for a while. |
@coolwanglu : Ah! |
@Siddhant Thanks! |
@coolwanglu A Utopic package for fontforge is now available. Can you now try to upload a Ubuntu Utopic package for pdf2htmlEX ? |
Is there a PPA for this again yet? |
You can try https://launchpad.net/~edwin-grubbs/+archive/ubuntu/ppa for trusty. It also updates poppler, pdf.js and fontforge. |
Any chances to get updated packages in PPA?
