Startinginfo after slashing

Where in code is startinginfo.Stake being updated after a validator is being slashed?
Im having problems with the BeforeValidatorModifiedHook.
My testcase is creating a delegation, then slashing the validator, and then unbonding the delegation.
When calling BeforeVallidatorModified while unbonding, I am getting the problem that the startinginfo.Stake is significantly greater than the actual stake of the validator (because the validator was slashed). Where does the communication between Slash() and startinginfo happen so that startinginfo is being updated accordingly to the slash amount?
