Introduction

This package contains some utilities to manipulate windows.

First, this package allows saving window configuration with associated names. These configurations are local to the perspective in use. I.e. different perspectives get different tables of names and window configurations.

There are three entry functions related to this functionality:

  • ctg-win-save-window-state
  • ctg-win-restore-window-state
  • ctg-win-delete-window-state

Second, this package allows to change the orientation of two windows, from horizontal to vertical and viceversa. The related function is

  • ctg-win-toggle-window-split

This function only has effect when there are two windows in the current frame. For the time being, the relative sizes are not kept and the new windows will have equal width (resp. height).

Configuration

This is an example configuration, using doom’s use-package!

(use-package! ctg-win
  :config
  (map! :leader
        (:prefix ("j w" . "windows")
         :desc "Save window state"
         "s" #'ctg-win-save-window-state
         :desc "Restore window state"
         "r" #'ctg-win-restore-window-state
         :desc "Deleted window state"
         "d" #'ctg-win-delete-window-state
         :desc "Toggle window split"
         "o" #'ctg-win-toggle-window-split)))
