RPGKeeper

I am an avid table-top RPG player. I have been playing various forms of RPGs for years (currently it's mainly D&D, and Edge of the Empire). Frequently, I felt limited or frustrated by the paper character sheets I had. And sometimes I'd lose them, or something would get spilled, or I'd want to look up something about my character, but didn't have it on me. Any of you who've played table-top RPGs know what I'm talking about.

That's why I've decided to make a website for storing your characters. It's a daunting task, and I've been working on various versions of it for years; this is only the latest iteration. And yes, it does keep getting better.

My vision for RPGKeeper is that it become a site useful for groups of players as well as individuals. I want GMs and Players to love it, using it for big campaigns, and as a central clearinghouse for campaign related things. At the moment, most of these features are missing, but I will be working on adding them just as soon as I get my core target systems built and working.

Targets Systems

The systems I'm initially building/supporting:

  • Generic System
    • This should be suitable for any system that doesn't use special dice. (Or, any system, if you don't mind rolling physical dice.)
  • Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition
    • I still run/play in several of these campaigns, so I plan on supporting this for a while to come.
  • Edge of the Empire
    • I run a lot of EotE content, and the system is simple enough it wasn't that hard.

These are systems I'd like to add support for:

  • Vampire the Masquerade
    • This is nostalgic for me, and I have a lot of old characters I'd like to digitize.
  • Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 Edition
    • Another nostalgic system that still has quite a following.
  • Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition
    • While I'm not a fan, I know it's the next version of D&D, and I'd like to support it.
  • Risus
    • Should be simple, and is great for one-shots.

TODO:

  • Read-only support: #4
  • Add a loading bar when loading the character for the first time: #6
  • Add saving/saved indicator: #7
  • Convert existing systems
    • Generic System: #5
      • Pull all modals out into their own components. These will be easier to work with in the long run.
    • EotE System
      • EVEYRTHING NEEDS CONVERSION
