chore: drop long-unsupported Python 3.7 #179
base: master
Are you sure you want to change the base?
Conversation
Python 3.7 hasn't been supported in ages, and it's causing errors on CI actions. Let's just drop it.
Thanks, I'll need to dig around a bit to make sure, and release this as a major version as a way to signal something got dropped. I may look into dropping some other old versions too if they're also very old |
That makes sense - would you like me to update this to get rid of other older versions as well? I'd recommend dropping Python older than 3.9 (3.8 and before are EOL) and older than 4.2 (4.1 and before are EOL). Then all that could go into one breaking/major version update. |
sorry for the late reply, but that sounds good. I haven't seen Python 3.8 in a really long time, and I know some Django 4.1 installs out there... but they're already running unsupported so dropping them isn't a big deal |
sorry for the late replies. My Github workflow changed and I still haven't figured out notifications for non-work repos. I made a few changes to my notifications so hopefully I get them now. |
No worries! Sorry I missed your previous couple emails as well. I'll try to get to this soon! |
I made the change to this PR while on a conference call but I think I got it done :) |

It appears that dropping Python 3.7 is desired anyway!
