Getting Up and Running

Running on Mac OSX

Getting a couple common questions about running the app on OSX. Here's a brief summary on how to get going.

  1. Tinderbox was built using Java 7. You can grab a copy from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javaseproducts/downloads/index.html. The latest version of Java is 8, so you may have to downgrade if 8 is not compatible.
  2. Boot up the app by using the OSX .app launcher included with the repo or via terminal from the project directory. Available start-up commands can be found in the README.

A note for Windows

It's been a while since I've worked with Windows so things haven't been tested on the platform. Sometimes, problems can be chalked up to the JAVA_HOME path variable.
