C-Dogs currently has the strafe option #144 , where instead of sliding with the switch key, you can strafe (move without turning). This was an option in Cyberdogs and was implemented in the hopes of re-implementing that game #71 .
However, another option is to automatically strafe when shooting. That is, as long as the fire button was held down, the player will not change direction. They would still be able to move, though.
The nice thing about this feature is that you can still use the switch key, say for sliding.
This option will mostly affect guns with rapid fire. It would be harder to deal with enemies surrounding you, but would make it much easier to deal with enemies in the same general direction - much like a fixed shooter. This could be an interesting option to use in certain mods.
