Why python3?

python2 may not show utf8 filename in some cases.

upload: temp/??2 to s3://backup.up9cloud.net/a/??2

#py3
upload: temp/中文 to s3://backup.up9cloud.net/a/中文

Caveats

• do not use :ubuntu image with utf8 filenames because of the base image (blitznote/debootstrap-amd64:16.04)'s locale is not completed.

Basic usage

docker run \
--rm \
-e AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID=<YOUR_ACCESS_KEY> \
-e AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY=<YOUR_SECRET_ACCESS> \
-e AWS_DEFAULT_REGION=ap-northeast-1 \
sstc/awscli \
aws s3 ls s3://my.bucket

Advanced usage

• setup aws config to ~/.aws/config

[default]
aws_access_key_id=<YOUR_ACCESS_KEY>
aws_secret_access_key=<YOUR_SECRET_ACCESS>
# Optional, to define default region for this profile.
region=ap-northeast-1

• run

docker run \
--rm \
-v ~/.aws:/root/.aws \
sstc/awscli \
aws s3 ls s3://my.bucket

chmod +x /usr/local/bin/aws

• run

# backup home

# restore home
aws s3 sync s3://my.bucket/object/ ~ --dryrun # test run
