Can't access debug log

Hey all,

I would like to experiment making firmware changes to my SmartSpin2k! 😄 Before I start, I want to access the debug log in release mode.

Unfortunately, I don't see any logs, either via the websocket or via UDP. Can anyone think of what I might be missing to access the debug logs?

Websockets

In Websocket mode, the UI simply says Loading.... The periodic http://smartspin2k.local/runtimeConfigJSON endpoint works fine, I see the numbers changing live.

Looking in the Chrome Dev Tools isn't useful, it just says "no messages". Looking in Wireshark, I do see the TCP connection is established on port 8080, and the SS2k does TCP ACK my websocket GET request, however I never hear any HTTP reply from the SS2k (only TCP keep alives):

Even trying a simple curl websocket doesn't work either:

UDP mode

I have confirmed in the Web UI that UDP logs are enabled (I experimented turning off/on). However, no matter what I try, my computer does not appear to receive any broadcast datagrams on port 10000.

Stupid question - are you sure you're on the same network?

Also, it's possible it's an issue in AP mode. If you're able to, you could try connecting it to an AP so it’s in STA mode.

Ah ha, that was it! It's an issue in AP mode (I did initial setup via Bluetooth, so I never bothered connecting to my router). I connected the SS2k to my router, and the websocket logs are flowing :)
