Die Klimakrise ist eine der größten Herausforderungen unserer Zeit und die Frage der Verantwortung für diese Krise ist von großer Bedeutung. China, als der größte CO2-Emittent der Welt, wird oft als Hauptverantwortlicher für die Klimakrise genannt. In dieser Arbeit werden zwei Datensätze, den CO₂-Datensatz und den Energie-Datensatz von Our World in Data, analysiert und visualisiert, um die Rolle Chinas in der Klimakrise zu untersuchen. Durch den Vergleich von CO2-Emissionen und Energie-Verbrauch wird untersucht, ob China tatsächlich verantwortlich für die Klimakrise ist. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass China zwar eine wichtige Rolle bei der Klimakrise spielt, jedoch auch andere Faktoren, wie der Einsatz von fossilen Brennstoffen und der Industriealisierung in westlichen Ländern, eine Rolle spielen. The climate crisis is one of the greatest challenges of our time and the question of of responsibility for this crisis is of great importance. China, as the largest CO2 emitter in the world, is often cited as the main culprit for the Climate Crisis. In this paper, two datasets, the CO2 dataset and the energy dataset from Our World in Data, are analyzed and visualized in order to examine China's role in the climate crisis. By comparing CO₂ emissions as well as energy consumptions, the study examines whether China is actually responsible for the climate crisis, or whether other factors are play a role. The results show that while China plays an important role in the climate crisis, but other factors, such as the use of fossil fuels and industrialization in Western countries, also play a role. role. The work emphasizes the need to focus on solutions to the climate crisis and not just to shift the responsibility to individual countries or or regions.
