Most Matrix links on webpages points to matrix.to addresses, like this: @user:example.org So copying the Matrix ID is not always easy, because copying link text is not easy in most browsers (trying to select it will drag-n-drop). Right-clicking on the Matrix ID and „copy link address” copies the matrix.to URL.
Solution
The user invitation dialog should accept these links and automatically extract the user id/room alias from it, and behave like if the actual id/alias would be pasted.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Editing the URL to a Matrix ID
Manually entering the Matrix ID
Copying the link text instead of address - not working when link text doesn't include Matrix ID, like this: Chat with me on Matrix
