Description

Error message "@user not in !room" when leaving a room while previewing/peeking is not translated. See arrow screenshot. This string is not available in Weblate.

Steps to reproduce

  • Preview/peek into a room
  • Go to room settings
  • Click leave room
  • Get the popup with the message

Describe how what happens differs from what you expected.

I would expect it to be in Dutch. For that it has to be translatable in Weblate.

Logs being sent: no

Version information

  • Platform: web

For the web app:

  • Browser: Chrome Versie 90.0.4430.212
  • OS: Windows 10
  • URL: develop.element.io

This error is from the server and doesn't have a dedicated errcode

@jelv How do you get to the room settings while peeking at it?

@kittykat see steps to reproduce I’ve submitted. Via room settings. Clicking on the title of the room opens the room settings in Element Web.

@jelv Clicking on the room title does not open the room settings for me, I wonder if we're looking at different parts of the UI. It would help if you could provide a screenshot showing where you're clicking or a screencast.

Thanks!

@t3chguy can we grey out the "leave room" option in settings when user is not a room member? Then this error won't come up and fix won't require a spec change. It also doesn't make sense to let a user try to do an action that they shouldn't be able to do.

Needs design review.

Severity is up for debate. I'm going with Major because it stops a user from doing something that a user shouldn't be able to do and there's no workaround.
