Should we add the destdir argument to the Fork suggestion on CONTRIBUTING file?

In the Pull request section of the CONTRIBUTING.md file (similar to most packages) we recommend to

• Fork the package and clone onto your computer. If you haven't done this before, we recommend using usethis::create_from_github("{{github_spec}}", fork = TRUE).

Each time I do this I need to specify the destdir argument. Well, after each wrong fork to a root directory and not the one I have all my Rstudio projects.

Two questions:

• Is this happens to anyone else? If common, we can add the destdir = "~/path/to/folder" argument, or as an optional reminder. Similar detail to the code chunk on this book chapter.
• Does everyone get the CONTRIBUTING.md file from the .github repo or elsewhere?

I found a solution in the happygitwithr book:

If you like to keep Git repos in a certain folder on your computer, you can personalize this default by setting the usethis.destdir option in your .Rprofile.

Following usethis reference guide:

• In the console, run usethis::edit_r_profile()
• This opens the .Rprofile file
• In the options() function, paste the directory of your preference in the usethis.destdir argument:

options(
  usethis.destdir = "~/path/to/folder/", # for use_course(), create_from_github()
)

• You must restart your Rstudio session for this to work.
• Test by forking a repository
