An avalanche is defined as consecutive reach overflows. According to Overspill avalanching in a dense reservoir network, the avalanche size s is defined as the number of connected reaches from which water overflows during the same timestep. The avalanche-size histogra,, H(s)~s⁻alpha, alpha>0. Studying the Ganghes-Brahmaputra river basin we got the following result.
