Filepicker+ module doesn't render directories list overlaying files list

When using ernie's modern layout with filepicker+'s sidebar feature, the list of directories and files are separated vertically when the list of directories should be rendered on top of the file list with only icons showing, and expanding to list directory names on mouse over.
