The keypress synthetic event guards against non-printable keys sent from firefox. It makes an exception for the Enter key since it can be printable.

When the ctrl key is pressed, the charCode for Enter is 13 in firefox but 10 in other browsers.

This fix enables ctrl + Enter keypress on other browsers. It doesn't modify the event itself, just returns 13 when charCode === 10

at first I went down that path, adding the 10 charCode there and in other parts of the code. I felt like I was modifying too much outside the scope of the keypress event and since that file and a few others use getEventCharCode I thought it better to make that function return 13 when the code was 10.

Since it returns 13, it will select Enter as its key.

When it comes to keyUp and keyDown events, it uses keyCode, which is correctly assigned 13

Thanks for the PR @nstraub. Can you provide an example reproducing the issue you're addressing here? I wrote a small test case for this and tested in Chrome and Safari on macOS and IE11 and it seems like it always reports 13 for the Enter key, even with the control modifier.

If you could demonstrate the issue (feel free to fork that JSFiddle) that would be great.

@aweary if you run your fiddle in chrome and do ctrl + enter, nothing gets logged in the console.
I don't have a mac to test it but on windows and the latest ubuntu this is its behaviour.

Apparently, the issue doesn't happen on MacOS, only on Windows and Linux

@nstraub For starters, why is scripts/fiber/tests-passing.txt part of your changes? Perhaps you can remove it? Also, you may want to rebase your changes to fix the merge conflicts. I don't have enough background about this PR though, so maybe cc @aweary. I'm curious about if there are other cases where browsers fire different event keys, and whether React reconciles them.
