The CalcOffset button uses FireSight calcOffset to calculate the offset between:

  1. the saved image of the selected camera at the current location
  2. the current image of the selected camera at the current location

Measurements are image-relative and given in pixels. In general, CalcOffset accuracy depends on camera distance from whatever it's looking at. If the camera is closer, then each pixel will correspond to a finer measurement than a distant image. For example, with a downward-looking camera, it is possible to resolve 60 microns of offset per pixel when the camera is about 20mm above the bed. In contrast, if your camera is looking at the tree in your front yard, a pixel of offset might correspond to the width of a leaf, which is considerably larger.
