@Joggel53 Sorry, but what exactly means "support accessibility in HTML"?
Are you going to different PDFs: one with images, and another with <alt> texts instead of images?
I'm not familiar with the specifics in Germany, but it refers to this
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/6397984/what-is-tagged-pdf. We've
gotten a few questions about it over the years.
To answer Joggel's question, Flying Saucer does not support it, nor are
there plans to support it (that I'm aware of).
For what it's worth, I don't think basic Tagged PDF support would be that
difficult and would definitely be a nice contribution. Conceptually it is a
little like embedding HTML tags in a page's content stream. I've never
looked into it, but I think iText/OpenPDF has support for generating the
necessary syntax.
In germany we are forced to support accessibiltiy in some cases.
I've read that flying saucer does not support all pdf tags needed für accessibility like
<Figure>
,<Alt>
, tags für tables. Is this true?
If it is true, are there any plans to support more accessibility.
Greadings from germany,
Joggel
