Mkdocs says the macros plugin is not installed

I do:

> pip install mkdocs-macros-plugin
Requirement already satisfied: mkdocs-macros-plugin in ./venv/lib/python3.9/site-packages (0.7.0)

and then I get

> mkdocs serve
INFO     -  Building documentation...
ERROR    -  Config value: 'plugins'. Error: The "macros" plugin is not installed
Aborted with 1 Configuration Errors!

It says the macros plugin is not installed, but it is.

Any tips?

Yes, there is a spelling error. It's 'mkdocs-macros-plugin' and not 'marcos' Envoyé de mon iPad

I don't think I've mistyped the name of the plugin. I'm still stuck...

In case it helps, this is included at the bottom of my mkdocs.yml file:

plugins:
  - search
  - tags:
      tags_file: tags.md
  - macros:
      verbose: true
      include_dir: docs/_includes

Then I do:

My intuition is that mkdocs is not installed in your virtual environment (if mkdocs is installed centrally, it will not be able to find the macros plugin). Could that be?

Mm I would tend to think someone poetry was not looking at my virtual environment but to the global system, where the plugin is not installed. So the other way round, I think.

It is mkdocs serve itself, which is raising the error. You mean, mkdocs itself could be doing something strange with its plugins, when there are virtualenvs? Could be... if that was the case, I would expect an issue to have been raised in the repository.

Anyway, I would try mkdocs serve --verbose just to see what comes up.

The issue was happened using pip-tools to manage the virtual environment and the dependencies. I'm now using poetry and I don't have the issue anymore. If I get this or a similar problem I'll use mkdocs serve --verbose and will report back here. Thanks a lot for your help, @fralau !
