Welcome to the wiki for the Generali Fork of log4j-detector!

About

Cited by the Upstreams About:

"[Log4j-detctor is a ...] Log4J scanner that detects vulnerable Log4J versions (CVE-2021-44228, CVE-2021-45046, etc) on your file-system within any application. It is able to even find Log4J instances that are hidden several layers deep. Works on Linux, Windows, and Mac, and everywhere else Java runs, too!"

Generali Germany has used the tool as stated in our Letter of Intention and therefore we created this fork. Inside Generali, the contribution came from Cosmos Direkt, which is the Direct Sales Channel of Generali Germany.

You can find information on how the repository is organized here: Repository Organization

Binaries

The Upstream delivers precompiled binaries in the project root directory as signed JARs (log4j-detector-YYYY.MM.DD.jar and log4j-detector-latest.jar).

Generali does NOT deliver precompiled binaries, as we don't want to meddle with Upstream releases. If you want to run the modifications of the Generali Fork, you need to build from source and use the JAR in the target directory (as described in the README).
