Important Tools

  • access to a 3D printer
  • access to a laser cutter
  • soldering equipment

All of these parts are just what I had laying around my workshop.

Electronics

This list is not yet complete

  • Raspberry Pi Pico
  • 2x LCD Displays (I used 1 20x4 and 1 16x2)
  • 1x Joystick module
  • 1x Sliding potentiometer
  • 1x Linear potentiometer 100k
  • 1x Speaker/Buzzer
  • 8x Push buttons
  • 5x Switches with 3 positions
  • 2x On/Off Switch
  • Jumper wires
  • PCBs and protoboards

3D Printed Parts

  • Attitude Control Parts
  • Joystick handle and hand rest
  • Joystick Adapters for potentiometer and joystick module
  • Throttle Lever Parts
  • Handle and Handle adapter
  • Interfaces parts with the sliding potentiometer

I had to model these interface parts because I don't have enough regular rotating potentiometers.

Internals

Raspberry Pi Pico support Attitude control joystick support Speaker support 3D Printed clamps (they clamp the kontroller to the desk) Laser Cut Parts Enclosure Parts (Left, right, front, back, bottom and panels)

other parts

lots of rubber bands / elastic for sewing (not really sewing) a sock super glue

This is open source for all to use, obviously, not everybody on the planet has a bunch of junk in their workshop to make something like this. so if you end up making it, modify the models and code to fit your needs.

(adding more stuff while I work out what this release needs)
