About CHCl3

CHCl3 (pronounced "Chloroform") is a set of scripts to automate the disabling and removal of certain files, processes, services, scheduled tasks, registry keys known to be related to Windows telemetry data collection.

It also adds known IP addresses and host names to firewall and Windows hosts file respectively to block network communication used for uploading collected telemetry data.

Running CMD/Batch Script Running VBScript Running Powershell Script

It is similar to debloating scripts for various operating systems and firmwares. However, CHCl3's primary focus is on preserving and protecting privacy by stopping or at the very least reducing the collection and transmission of personal data, which Microsoft considers as telemetry data that it is entitled to collect legally.

Note

CHCl3 is developed and tested on Windows 7 SP1. It may or may not work on Windows 8 and above.

No assumption can be made on its effectiveness other than Windows 7.
