Text for posting in Slack Channels:

Hello UX researchers/designers: We at BallotNav are currently conducting product-market fit research, collecting data from organizations that work to mobilize US voters. Our goal is to gain a better understanding of the pressing issues and challenges volunteers and field organizers face.

Right now we are looking for someone to help with organizing our customer development work (e.g. documenting research plans, cataloguing our data, etc). We would like someone who has experience working on a product from end-to-end.

Primary goals:

  • Review existing documentation, including research documentation, and offer guidance on better organization and presentation.
  • Help develop a system to document the current state of our project for on boarding new team members and stakeholders.
  • Help develop the next phases of the project- MVP, prototyping etc.
  • Develop research presentations for other team members- engineers, designers, sales/marketing.

You are:

  • A UX researcher and a UX designer with experience in all design stages: Discovery, Problem Definition, Prototyping and Testing.
  • Experience designing presentations, Wiki pages, data mapping, and other methods of presenting data.
  • Skilled at communicating with team members in different roles: product managers, engineers, other UX researchers and designers, etc.

If you are interested in joining the BallotNav team, please post a message in the #BallotNav channel and one of the PMs will reach out to you. Thank You!

Hi Stacey! I saw your post about needing UX Designers for the ballotnav project and was hoping to get more info on how to get started. Thanks!

Hi Joyce. Thanks for reaching out. What is your experience with UX research and design, with respect to what we asked about in our description?

Hi Stacey, thank you for your response! I have some experience with both design and research. I am currently working on a research and design project with my bootcamp at springboard (going through the screener surveys, interviews, transcribing the interviews, coming up with the thematic analysis, as well as creating sketches, wireframing and then now working on the hi fidelity) on figma.
I have been through onboarding, and am looking to join this project so that I can learn from and work with other designers, and hopefully at the end, showcase it on my portfolio. Thank you!

Hi all, I saw you are in need of UX to go over research documentation etc., and I am looking for a project to volunteer on here in July. Can you let me know the time committment, meeting times, and any project links of the product? Hoping we are a fit. Best, Brittany | UX Research

Hi Stacey, I have a background in psychology and academic research methods, took a UX portfolio class at Pratt, and am completing the google UX certificate program. I am using Figma, Tableau, and Pitch. My research skills are strong and I would love to join on a project that I can showcase end to end for a portfolio, or just gain experience conducting UX research, and have a great time meeting new people while I grow my portfolio.

Hey Brittany- have you attended one of the Hack for LA on boarding sessions? We need to confirm you are on boarded to the organization and have access to GitHub before we bring you on to the project.
