Overview

In an effort to understand and document how ballot drop box information is shared by the California Secretary of State site for the upcoming midterm elections happening on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

Action Items

  • Make a copy of the BallotNav Presentation template and title it [Insights on the California Secretary of State Voting Site]
  • Make sure the above presentation is saved in this folder
  • Start by observing details from the site and making notes of this
  • Start a task, try to find information related to 2041 N Commonwealth Ave Los Angeles, CA 90066 and 411 Santa Clara Ave Oakland, CA 94610, take screenshots as you:
    - [ ] Put the address in the search bar
    - [ ] Get the results from your search (information that is shared with you)
    -[ ] Click on the result
  • Make a note of anything else that happened during your user journey
  • After reviewing this site, write up a summary or illustrate what a better user journey would be (for people using the Secretary of State site, not BallotNav)

hey @kcoronel, I just started working on this and wanted to get some clarification. Should I be viewing the California SoS site as someone who wants to specifically find out where I can drop off my ballot (what BallotNav helps with) or as someone who wants to know more about the voting/election process in general? Just want to make sure I have the scope right. Thanks!
