monitor=DP-2,preferred,auto,1
monitor=DP-1,preferred,auto-down,1

Monitors placed correctly, but each monitor has its own mouse cursor and only DP-2 could be used with mouse. other auto-placements work correctly as far as I can tell.

How to reproduce

use two similar monitors, add config lines from above, note weird mouse behavior.
