The pack can't do everything for you, but it tries it's best. There are a few other things I recommend doing after installation to improve your battery life, performance, and more. I'll add to this list if I find any other ways to improve the experience.
If you want longer playtime, changing your max framerate will help battery life significantly at the cost of responsiveness. At lower framerates, the game will look a little more choppy. You can adjust this in your Steam Deck's quick settings after enabling the "per-game profile". You should set it to either 90 (OLED models only), 60, 45, or 30. I recommend to not adjust the max framerate or vSync option in Minecraft's video settings unless you know what you're doing.
Setting a TDP limit can make the battery last longer while barely affecting performance if set correctly.
- While Minecraft is open, enable the "per-game profile" in the power menu of quick settings.
- Turn on the TDP limit. For a smooth experience across most circumstances, set it to:
- With shaders: Set to atleast 9 watts
- Without shaders: Set to atleast 5 or 6 watts
You can also install CryoUtilities to improve general Steam Deck performance. Doing this should make it more stable and fast - not just for Minecraft!
