Application Overview

TumblrTextTint is a web application that enables you to format your Tumblr blog posts with a custom colour for your text. The application is designed to enhance the aesthetic appeal of your posts and provide you with more creative freedom by allowing you to choose from a wide range of colour options beyond those provided by Tumblr's default formatting options.

With TumblrTextTint, you can easily generate HTML code for a span tag with a style attribute that sets the colour of your text. The application is a free and open-source tool that is simple, user-friendly and requires no installation or setup. It is designed to be accessible to users of all skill levels and is an excellent tool for bloggers, writers and anyone looking to add a personal touch to their Tumblr posts.

Instructions

To learn how to use TumblrTextTint, check out the instructions in the instructions.md file. The instructions cover how to access the app on both computers and mobile devices, as well as how to insert the generated code into your Tumblr blog post. With these instructions, you'll be able to format your blog posts with custom text colors and add a personal touch to your writing.

Limitations

  • The generated HTML code only works for text within a single paragraph (i.e., no line breaks or multiple paragraphs) - this will change in the future
  • The generated HTML code only sets the color of the text, not any other text formatting (e.g., font size, bold, italic) - this will change in the future
  • If you are using a custom Tumblr blog theme, this might affect the colours showing up on your blog site as the theme might override the styling.

Credits

This web application was created by myself Izzy-Loa (@xiacodes) using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The custom cursors used are called "Oxygen Chrome Set" created by Riccardo Laconelli - link to the cursor set. The web app was also inspired by a JS Fiddle - credits to the creator!
