theAstroShed's Process Icons

Scripts Overview

Fix Tiled Zoom

I like to tile my calibrated and integrated master frames, then stretch and zoom them to fit the window. If you check the "automatic zoom calculation" checkbox it will try to find the zoom that works best for each window

Additionally, it will do an STF auto stretch on each window.

If you save a process icon you can drop it onto one window and it will work globally

Smart Rename View

This script simply renames the main view of an image to match whatever is in the filter, which allows you to hardcode values in your process icons (For example, Red, Green, and Blue) rather than having to manually change them.

You can set a prefix and suffix, for example foo_ and _bar, and the resulting view name would be foo_<filter>_bar, or foo_Red_bar.

If you click the Batch-mode cheat enabled and save a process icon it will apply to all image windows rather than just the one you drop it on (kind of like a global apply)

Append Prefix or Suffix

My workflow has changed, and I often end up with SHO & RGB workflows open at the same time, so I can't just rename something to starless. I found myself manually editing the image identifier to append starless (like, SHO_starless). I figured it would be nice to have a way to just append a _starless suffix. I further figured, hey, I might want a prefix as well, and I figured that I might as well make it configurable.

This is designed to be saved off in a process icon set that you reload (mine are here, the RGB & SHO workflows). Launch the script, configure what you want the prefix and/or suffix to be, then drag and drop that icon on the image you want to change. You can have multiple different instances to match your workflow.

The bonus is that using consistent names make later steps (saved pixelmath scripts) easier, because the files always have the same name.

Clone With Suffix

I have found that, when processing, I tend to make clones along the way so I can get back to a certain point, or if I need something that hasn't been tweaked yet (maybe for continuum subtraction, later in the process.

Yeah, you can easily clone via drag and drop or via PixelMath, but then you've just got some random Foo_clone or Image33. If you go the PixelMath route you lose the astrometric solution, and if you do the D&D clone, you'd probably rename it. So I wrote a script to take care of it.

It lets you:

• Specify what you want appended to the end of the view name
• Drag & drop onto a view to clone
• copy the astrometric solution

Say you've got R, G, and B images, and you want to save them off as R_linear , B_linear, and C_linear before you do stretch the main files. Create an instance of the script with a suffix of linear, drag it onto your workspace, then drag it onto each of the RGB. Laziness for the win. Save it in your process icons to reuse

Iconize Matching Child Image(s)

If a child view exists with a matching suffix, iconize it (A child image is defined as something that has the Parent view's ID as a prefix)

Example: If the target image is Ha and the suffix is linear and there's an Ha_linear view, iconize it.

Usage:

• As a saved process Icon: Drop the icon on a visible parent image to iconize related child
• Applied to Active Image (square): Iconize related child of the target with the specified suffix
• Applied Globally (circle): Iterate through all visible instances and iconizes each matching child

Clone and Resize target image

Clone an image, and resample so the longest side matches the target. The cloned view will get a suffix of _XXXXpx Note: Images will not get scaled up
