This should be merged as soon as the PR build passes (or perhaps even before, as this is a simple revert), to ensure the fix is in tomorrow's weekly.

No worries, the goal was (still is) worthwhile, and it's a very obscure feature.

IMO we should just deprecate AbstractModelObject#sendError and replace it with something else. The breadcrumbs are also a mess, not just the sidepanel.
