Description

Added - OpenHornet Silkscreening.
Added - CC-BY-NC silkscreen.
Added - Switch/Pot Silkscreen with position count
Added - Imperial fastener size silkscreens on holes where possible.
Added - Filter capacitors for 90% of the LEDs.
Added - Copper poured ground plane on the rear.
Added - Copper poured+5V plane on the front.

Changed - Keep out areas around hardware due to the power planes.
Changed - All connectors from Micro-Fit to Mini-Fit Jr. 2x2 Connectors for better current capacity.
Changed - Pin assignment:

  1. +5V
  2. +5V
  3. GND
  4. DATA IN/OUT

Removed - Personal copyright.

The schematics are functional, not aesthetic. They need to be polished in the future, this is noted.

Type of change

Please delete options that are not relevant.

  • New MCAD (new Mechanical Model) - Each PCB STEP/Part file
  • Change ECAD (fixed issue with existing PCB)
  • Bug fix (non-breaking change which fixes an issue)
  • New feature (non-breaking change which adds functionality)

How Has This Been Tested?

Please describe the tests that you ran to verify your changes. Provide instructions so we can reproduce. Please also list any relevant details for your test configuration

  • Test A - KiCAD Bug tester, negative relevant results.
  • Test B - Peer reviewed by a second electrical engineer.
    Further testing will take place within 5 days from this date when the panels arrive for testing.

Test Configuration:

  • Software: Windows 10 Pro Version: 20H2
  • SDK: SW 2019 Premium SP5, KiCAD 5.1.6

Checklist:

MCAD:

  • Model is in SolidWorks 2019 format
  • Design intent and requirements have been met
  • Design has been fit checked to ensure no interferences exist
  • Design has been integrated into Next Higher Assembly (NHA)

PCB/ECAD:

  • Requirements definition
  • Schematic completed
  • PCB routed
  • PCB constrained by physical footprint limitations
  • PCB critical component location requirements met
  • Schematic/PCB reviewed
  • BOM generated
  • Gerbers generated
  • MCAD generated

Changed to base on ABSIS_2.0 branch from Master. Otherwise looks great, and some really stellar work. I'm super excited to be bringing backlighting to OpenHornet.
