About The Project 🌐

Overview 📌

SPYCLI is a versatile command-line interface (CLI) tool 🛠️ designed to provide an easy and direct way to browse and stream a wide variety of media content, including Movies 🎬, TV Shows 📺, Anime 🎌, Kdramas 🎭, and C-dramas 🇨🇳. It is built to operate across multiple systems such as Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android.

How It Works 🛠️

SPYCLI operates through a backend API 🌍 that acts as a conduit between the CLI tool and the various media content providers listed on our Providers wiki. This API is crucial for the functionality of SPYCLI, as it does not host or store any media content itself. Instead, it intelligently scrapes and retrieves direct streaming links from the internet—specifically from the sources detailed in our Providers list. This process ensures that SPYCLI serves merely as a bridge, facilitating access to content without directly engaging in hosting or redistributing it.

Note

The API is currently free to use, and we strive to keep it that way indefinitely to support our community of users. However, maintaining and hosting the API involves costs, so we encourage and appreciate any financial contributions from our users. These contributions help ensure that SPYCLI can remain free and continue to develop. If you find value in SPYCLI and are able to support us, please consider funding our efforts to keep this service accessible for everyone. 💸💖

Inspiration 💡

The creation of SPYCLI was heavily inspired by other CLI-based media streaming tools such as ani-cli and mov-cli, which provide similar functionalities for specific niches within the media streaming domain.
