We fixed this with jupyterlab/jupyterlab#8808 without making a wrapper. |

Creates a wrapper extension to push the package down
Need to figure out how to expose it to the application as well as an import - might need a different name for the application (perhaps a suffix)
Current status is that we are still not registering the shared extensions: I think it it because the exposed files are in the parent directory
