Android Geo aware apps

This page lists android apps that support geografic coordinates (a.k.a. geo-uri-s).

• Geo-Clients can ask other android service apps to view/send geo data by sending VIEW or SEND with a geo-uri
• Geo-Services can respond to geo-uri-s send by a geo-client.

Geo-Clients

A Geo-Client can select a geografic coordinate and ask a Geo-Service to do something with it.

• OsmAnd navigation app: select a coordinate in the map and share/view it.
  • long-press in the map will create a marker.
  • select the newly created marker
  • press the share symbol.
  • Select "geo:"
  • => a list of geo-apps is shown

geo-services

A Geo-Service receives a geografic coordinate from a Geo-Client and does something with it.
