To use RigelEngine on Steam Deck:
- Switch to Desktop Mode (hold power button until menu appears, then choose Desktop Mode)
- Install RigelEngine via the Discover software center. It's one of the quick launch icons to the right of the start menu button. Or you can open it via the start menu, in the "System" category. Use the search function to find RigelEngine, then click "Install".
- Launch RigelEngine via the start menu -> "Games" category. You will get an error message about missing game files, telling you the directory where you need to put the files.
- Copy your Duke Nukem II game data onto your Steam Deck, and place them into the directory shown in step 3. There are different methods available for copying files, the easiest is probably to use a USB stick or SD card. But you can also use SSH if you have it set up, or use various tools available. How exactly to do it is out of scope for this guide.
- Open Steam while still in Desktop mode.
- Click on the "Add game" button in the bottom-left corner of the Steam client, select "Add non-Steam game", select RigelEngine from the list, and click "Add selected".
RigelEngine is now in your Steam library, and can be launched from game mode. When a new version is released, you can update via the Discover center.
