Red background : This indicates that the message is successfully sent. For providers that support it (WhatsApp for example), there can be ticks alongside the message.
- Single tick (green) : The message has been successfully pushed to server.
- Double tick (green) : The message has been successfully pushed to the target device.
- Double tick (blue) : The message has been read by the target.
- Yellow background : This indicates that the message is being sent in the process. The duration of yellow background varies with the connection speed. It may be visible for very short time on fast connections, and for quite some time on slow connections. Sometimes, the message is sent but no ACK is received from the server causing the yellow background to persist for a fixed timeout. It may then turn in gray background with red border.
- Gray with red border around : This indicates that the message failed to push to the server due to connection issues. Sometimes it may happen that the ACK received from the server is lost due to connection issues and the message though successfully sent, is perceived as failed to send. If you know some workarounds for this, please test your changes and submit a PR.
- Email address: this is your Gmail address.
- Password: this is your Gmail account password. If you use 2-steps authentication, please read following section.
If you have enabled 2-steps authentication for your Gmail account, you should generate an application specific password for Loqui as explained in this Google help page: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833?hl=en
You will only have to enter that ASP into Loqui once, so you do not even need to remember it.
Some users receive a mail from Google stating that a suspicious access has been made from Málaga (Spain).
If you have received such an alert, don't panic, your account hasn't been compromised.
Loqui uses a technology called BOSH that protects your privacy by pushing all your messages through a secure gateway so that nobody in the Internet can read them while being delivered and Google can't see your actual IP or location. The bad thing is that sometimes Google servers mistrust your logging attempt because the location of the gateway is thousands of miles away from your home (yes, they perfectly know where you live).
The mail you received should contain more information on how to allow your account to login through our BOSH gateway. If you still can't get to login, we can help you at support@loqui.im
This also happens when a user has enabled 2-steps authentication and uses his regular password instead of a app-specific one. Please read previous section for instructions on how to solve it.
