This is VERY rough and work in progress, and not meant to be merged at this moment. I'll add more info about this over time, when working with the k8s community.
But it's a point in (hopefully) the right direction.
The
yamlpackage would represent a v2 rewrite of sigs.k8s.io/yaml, and thejsonpackage would represent a net new extraction of code ink8s.io/apimachineryinto asigs.k8s.io/json, on whichsigs.k8s.io/yamldepends.
