Two possible way:
use VESRION in the customParams Now the custom params will override the default params.
use the version directly in the layer, this will be used by GeoExt

I also remove tabs and end white space (=> see commits individually...)

Issue to reopen, since it still uses the SRS parameter in the WMS query, which has been replaced by CRS in WMS 1.3
